Ah Texas, my favorite road trip destination. Although there is so much more to see of Texas than just the Dallas area, I will keep my focus there. I have lived in the Dallas area for the past three summers. I love summers in Dallas because there is never an empty moment. There is always fun things to do and new things to see.
1.LONE STAR PARK
Call me bias, but Lone Star is a must! Hearing the horses' hooves run across the dirt track is a unique sound you can only hear at the racetrack. Placing bets on the ponies and winning a little money is the best way to spend an evening.
2.CUPCAKE ATM
Even though I put Lonestar as number one, this is my favorite! The cupcake ATM is a "vending" machine connected to the Sprinkles Bakery downtown. The ATM accepts credit cards and is opened 24/7! Yes, 3AM cupcakes are now a thing. Did I mention they taste amazing?
3. BFF ASIAN Grill AND SPORTS BAR
BFF is located in Arlington close to Six Flags. After you ride your heart out on the Texas Giant, you can go to BFF for sushi. BFF has rice plates, sushi, rolls, pho noodles, wings, and so much more. An appetizer that I highly recommend is their fried green beans with spicy mayo.
4. OLDWEST CAFE
Old West is cafe with a vibe that makes you feel as though you are in a John Wayne movie. However, their specialty pancakes will make you feel like you're in the twenty-fourth century.
Oldwest serves breakfast and lunch. They have speciality coffees and pancakes that Ihop can't give you. My favorite, the vanilla latte pancakes! If you can't make it to Arlington, Oldwest Cafe also has location in Denton, Grapevine, and Bedford. Be sure to grab a handcrafter coffee for the road!
